Ho’o means to make. Maluhia is the word for solemn awe and stillness. Together makes Ho’omaluhia, which means to provide peace and protection.

These mountains are glorious, magnificent, any word that could describe something that is so grand yet peaceful. Warmth, love, home.

Ho’omaluhia gardens was one of the first places in Oahu I made sure to go back to when I came back the second time around. A way to say hello, offer my presence, a prayer and thank the mountains for the protection they offered me during this journey.
